At the same time your puppy is biting you, press the blue button on your BiteBreaker.
Immediately Stand up & cross your arms. Turn your back to your puppy until they calm down. Once they are calm and have completely stopped biting, resume playing with them.
If your puppy bites you again repeat steps 1 & 2. Your puppy should be gradually lessening their bite each time. They will soon stop biting altogether.
The BiteBreaker works by using your dogs own language to train them! All dogs instinctively recognize the “yelp” sound. They know that it means they were playing too rough. After they hear it, they adjust their bite intensity and gradually stop altogether.
The BiteBreaker uses the same sound that a puppy instinctively knows. It is the same noise their mother and siblings made when play time got too rough. In their litter, puppies quickly learn that if they bite too rough then play time ends. It is our job to continue this training when we bring them home.
If you make a yelp sound and your puppy doesn't immediately stop biting, that means your yelp is not accurate enough. Anyone that can't make their human-yelp sound close enough to a canine-yelp should use a BiteBreaker. Because everyone in the family needs to participate in their pets training, you need to make sure that everyone can make the noise.
